United Airlines has unveiled its Summer 2026 schedule, which includes new flights from Newark to Bari, Split, Santiago de Compostela, and Glasgow, as well as from Newark to Seoul and Washington, D.C., to Reykjavik. The airline also plans to restore all seasonal destinations from Summer 2025.

According to United’s official Newsroom article, the airline will be the only U.S. carrier offering nonstop service from Newark/New York to the four new destinations—Split in Croatia, Bari in Italy, Glasgow in Scotland, and Santiago de Compostela in Spain—in Summer 2026. The announcement highlights United's expanding transatlantic footprint and its leadership in European connectivity from the U.S. East Coast. The press release mentions nearly 3,000 weekly international round-trips targeted for that season.

PR Newswire reports that United will add new services from Newark/New York to Seoul, South Korea (year-round daily on a Boeing 787-9), and from Washington D.C. to Reykjavik, Iceland (seasonal daily on a Boeing 757-200). The full rollout includes all nine destinations from United’s previous Summer 2025 expansion—such as Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia and Nuuk in Greenland—marking a complete return plus growth. Tickets for these new flights are available immediately but are subject to governmental approval.

As reported by Upgraded Points, United’s expansion involves the return of nine destinations first launched in Summer 2025 alongside the Summer 2026 route additions. This strategy reinforces its ongoing international network growth strategy by diversifying its portfolio and responding to rising travel demand in both emerging and established markets. The timing of these announcements aligns with United updating its schedule well ahead of the next peak season to provide customers with more lead time.

United Airlines is a major U.S. carrier headquartered in Chicago and a founding member of the Star Alliance. According to Wikipedia, United has hubs at Newark/New York and Washington D.C., offers service to over 150 international destinations, and has been investing in fleet, product, and network enhancements to maintain competitiveness.
