Passengers planning summer travel for 2026 can now book flights with Lufthansa Group Airlines, which has released its schedule featuring new destinations and increased frequencies. The group, which includes Lufthansa Airlines, Discover Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss, and ITA Airways, will offer more than 14,000 weekly connections to 330 destinations in about 100 countries through hubs in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, and Italy.

Lufthansa Airlines is focusing on a stable and reliable flight schedule with additional connections to popular destinations. From Frankfurt next summer, the airline will operate five weekly flights to St. Louis (USA), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), and Cape Town (South Africa), as well as daily flights to Raleigh/Durham (USA), Washington (USA), and Nairobi (Kenya). Due to high demand for Scandinavian routes, Trondheim in Norway will be added from Frankfurt four times a week starting May 1, 2026. With services from Munich included, there will be at least one daily flight from Germany to Trondheim.

The Munich hub will see an extended summer season with Sao Paulo and Johannesburg continuing as long-haul destinations using the Airbus A350-900 aircraft. However, Lufthansa Airlines plans to reduce more than 50 feeder route frequencies due to high operational costs in Germany; routes affected include those between Munich and Cologne or Düsseldorf and Berlin. Some connections are under review for possible reduction or discontinuation.

Additionally, the airline will discontinue flights from Frankfurt to Toulouse and from Munich to Tallinn and Oviedo next spring for economic reasons. Passengers can still reach Tallinn and Oviedo via other Lufthansa Group hubs.

SWISS is introducing new routes such as Zurich–Poznan beginning March 29, 2026. During July and August it will also fly to Rijeka in Croatia. SWISS is increasing frequencies on several European routes including Alicante, Valencia (Spain), Manchester (UK), Montpellier (France), Tirana (Albania), Budapest (Hungary), and Venice (Italy). On long-haul routes there will be daily flights from Zurich to Tokyo during April-May-October; otherwise five weekly flights are planned.

Austrian Airlines’ summer program remains diverse with Greece, Spain, Italy among top destinations. Based on strong demand last year “coolcation” spots like Sylt (Germany), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Lofoten Islands (Norway) are being resumed or expanded.

ITA Airways announced its return to London Heathrow with twice-daily Rome Fiumicino–London Heathrow service; details of its full summer schedule are forthcoming. Direct seasonal flights from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate to Greek islands as well as Spanish destinations are also planned.

Brussels Airlines adds Kilimanjaro in Tanzania—its eighteenth sub-Saharan African destination—with twice-weekly service starting June 2026. Flights between Brussels and Freetown increase from five to six per week; an extra Thursday flight is being added. Within Europe capacity increases focus on Spain, Portugal and Italy.

Edelweiss expands long-haul offerings from Zurich by adding Windhoek in Namibia twice weekly starting June 2026 while increasing frequency on existing Seattle/Punta Cana/Tampa routes plus extending seasonal services elsewhere.

Discover Airlines introduces short-haul services connecting Frankfurt with Shannon in Ireland and Brindisi in Italy—both operating twice weekly—and adds Cyprus’ port city of Larnaca with daily departures from both Frankfurt/Munich at varying frequencies throughout the week. Long-haul adjustments include making the Seychelles connection year-round instead of just winter while boosting Las Vegas service out of Frankfurt every Saturday.
