The National Park Foundation has announced an 'Adventure Awaits' sweepstakes, offering a grand prize of 500,000 American Airlines AAdvantage miles and a $12,500 travel allowance. Participants can enter by donating to the foundation or mailing a postcard. Donations support the foundation's mission to protect and preserve over 420 national park sites across the United States.

The sweepstakes is open to U.S. residents, excluding those in Washington and Montana. Winners will be announced in early September. The Grand Prize winner will receive half a million frequent flyer miles from American Airlines, allowing them to bring three friends or family members to a National Park of their choice. Additionally, they will receive $12,500 for travel expenses and free luggage from BÉIS.

To enter the competition, participants can visit the official entry page on the National Park Foundation website. There are three ways to participate: donating online through various methods including Apple Pay and PayPal; entering by mail with a donation; or sending a postcard without making any donation. Postcards must include the participant's name, address, phone number, and optionally an email address. All entries must be postmarked by August 31st and received by September 7th.
