Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have received approval from the Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCCS) for their commercial joint venture agreement. This approval will allow both airlines to enhance their strategic partnership across a range of commercial activities, promising greater benefits for the airlines, as well as Indonesia and Singapore.

The collaboration may include operating joint revenue-sharing flights between the two countries, coordinating flight schedules to offer travelers more options and seamless connectivity, and exploring joint sales and marketing initiatives that provide added value to customers.

Since signing an agreement in May 2023 to deepen their partnership, Garuda Indonesia and Singapore Airlines have been working on initiatives such as allowing GarudaMiles and KrisFlyer members to earn and redeem miles on codeshare routes. The airlines currently codeshare on various flights, including routes between Singapore and Indonesian cities like Bali, Jakarta, Medan, and Surabaya, as well as long-haul routes between Singapore and Johannesburg, London (Heathrow), and Mumbai.
