Los Angeles, California, and Taipei, Taiwan – On June 21, Taiwan-based luxury carrier STARLUX Airlines hosted the STARLUX Airlines Drone Show night at Dodger Stadium. The event featured a ceremonial first pitch by baseball legend Hong-Chih Kuo, signature cocktails served by STARLUX flight attendants, a drone show themed around STARLUX, and a giveaway of roundtrip airline tickets. A crowd of 50,600 attended as the Los Angeles Dodgers competed against the Los Angeles Angels.

The event marked the three-year extension of STARLUX’s “Proud Partner designation” and its new role as the Dodgers’ “Exclusive Taiwanese Airline.” This collaboration is significant for the Dodgers, whose ties to Taiwan date back to 2002 when they welcomed their first Taiwan-born player. Now, over 20 years later, they have partnered with their first Taiwanese airline.

STARLUX Night began with former Taiwanese Dodger All-Star pitcher Hong-Chih Kuo throwing the ceremonial first pitch. Kuo, known for being the first Taiwanese player to hit a home run in MLB, returned to deliver a fastball across home plate before an enthusiastic crowd. Additionally, two fans won roundtrip airline tickets from STARLUX: premium economy tickets announced after the second inning and business class tickets after the fourth inning.

STARLUX also engaged fans during pre- and post-game festivities off the field. Flight attendants greeted fans at Centerfield Plaza with alcohol-free versions of STARLUX’s signature in-flight Sci-Fi Cosmos cocktail at their booth, which also featured giveaways like flight tags and Dodgers playing cards. The evening concluded with a “Friday Night Light” drone show that illuminated Dodger Stadium with displays of the STARLUX plane and logo.

“Our Dodgers stadium activation embodies STARLUX’s unwavering dedication to Los Angeles, our inaugural US destination,” said Glenn Chai, CEO of STARLUX Airlines. “We are immensely grateful to our rapidly growing Los Angeles- and US-based passengers who have embraced their first flights with STARLUX.”

“It was great to celebrate our ongoing partnership with STARLUX at Friday’s Dodger game,” said Lorenzo Sciarrino Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships for the Los Angeles Dodgers. “We have enjoyed a loyal and rewarding relationship with STARLUX and look forward to creating many more positive memories in the coming years.”

STARLUX Night capped an exciting week that included the signing of 17-year-old Taiwanese outfielder Ko Ching-Hsien by the Dodgers.
