Fiji Airways is applying for a new route to Dallas, increasing its North American presence. The airline already flies to Honolulu, Los Angeles, and San Francisco in the US. Fiji Airways will get a full oneworld membership in 2025, providing more benefits for its passengers.

Fiji Airways is making further inroads into the United States and has applied for a new route from Nadi International Airport (NAN) to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The airline already flies to several destinations in North America, and once approved, the Dallas service will be its longest.

Fiji Airways has applied to the US Department of Transportation for approval for a new service between Nadi International Airport (NAN) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). The airline will deploy its Airbus A350 widebody airplane with 334 seats on the route. According to the airline, flights have been planned to operate three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays “beginning as soon as all required government approvals are received.”

Fiji Airways already has several services to North America. This includes one in Canada—Vancouver—and the rest in the United States—Honolulu, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Aviation analytics company Cirium data shows that Fiji Airways deploys the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft to Honolulu, Airbus A330 and A350 to San Francisco, and A350 to Los Angeles and Vancouver.

In June, Fiji Airways announced that it would partner with American Airlines for a unified frequent flyer program. Anmol Bhargava, Vice President of Partnerships at American Airlines, said that the airline is taking its partnership with Fiji Airways one step further by offering their mutual customers “the opportunity to unlock more destinations and travel experiences through the AAdvantage® program.”

Fiji Airways already operates codeshare flights across the US in partnership with American Airlines. For example, from Los Angeles, its passengers can connect to destinations such as Albuquerque, Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Charlotte-Douglas, Chicago, New York, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Portland, and many others. The Southern Pacific airline’s new route to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport will likely extend this relationship considering the airport is American Airlines’ biggest hub.

The airline is also expected to have more connections once it becomes a full oneworld member in 2025. Fiji Airways has been a oneworld connect partner since 2018 but announced in June that it is taking its association with the alliance a step further towards full membership.

The oneworld network includes over 900 destinations in 170 territories. Full membership will offer Fiji Airways passengers access to hundreds of lounges globally and other privileges and rewards for frequent fliers such as fast-track security and extra baggage.

Fiji Airways operates a mixed fleet of narrowbody and widebody aircraft ranging from Airbus twin-aisle jets to Boeing and ATR narrowbody planes. Per ch-aviation data it has 13 aircraft in active service. Its active fleet includes two Airbus A330-200s one A330-300 four A350-900s five Boeing 737 MAX 8s and one 737-800 From its base in Nadi the airline flies to many global destinations including those in North America as well as several in Australia New Zealand Asia such as Singapore Hong Kong Tokyo among others.
