The Chicago Executive Pilots Association (CEPA) hosted its annual Member Appreciation Dinner in Hangar 5 at Chicago Executive Airport on July 10, awarding three students with individual scholarships for their pursuits in aviation.

During the evening dinner, approximately 50 guests attended to enjoy food and friendship, followed by the official check presentations.

- Justin McGee – received $4,500 for funding his education at Southern Illinois University

- Ryder Schuch – received $4,500 for funding his flight training at Leading Edge Flying Club at KPWK

- Cadet Second Lieutenant David Brenner – received $900 to attend the Johnson Flight Academy

Brenner is part of the PWK Composite Squadron Civil Air Patrol.

Joining the 2024 recipients and offering their congratulations were past winners, including Army Reserve Helicopter Pilot Adam Darst; Maya Gronkowski, CFII, ME; and Sky West First Officer Matt O’Reilly.

Funding for these scholarships is provided by donations made to CEPA’s PAPA Scholarship and Safety Foundation, which was founded in 1988. The scholarship was created to award worthy pilots who have financial need to attain their career goals in aviation.
