The Bob Hoover Academy, a nonprofit based in Salinas, California, dedicated to empowering at-risk youth through aviation education, has received significant support from industry stakeholders. The Thomas and Stacey Siebel Foundation has pledged donations that will include three CarbonCub Kit airplanes over the next three years. These planes will be assembled by students at the academy.

Additionally, the academy has partnered with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) to incorporate its High School Aviation STEM Curriculum. Industry players Cirrus, CubCrafters, and Game Composites have committed to providing job interviews and internship opportunities for program participants.

Sean Tucker, founder of the Bob Hoover Academy, stated that there are currently 25 students enrolled in the program. He emphasized that the new donations would expand opportunities and benefit the broader community. “This incredible gift will profoundly impact our students’ lives. Many come from environments where hope is scarce, and the future is bleak. Aviation provides them with not only a career path but also a lifeline, instilling self-esteem and hope. This donation will provide over $1.5 million funding over the next three years,” Tucker said.

CubCrafters is offering guaranteed job interviews in areas such as machining, composites, welding, assembly, fabric work, paint or services based on their interests. Game Composites will provide two-week internships along with guaranteed job interviews.

“We’re going to get this done, and we’re not going to let Bob down,” Tucker concluded.
