Airbnb has introduced a new 2% fee on international bookings. Users can circumvent this fee by changing the default currency in their account to the local currency of the country where they are making a booking. The move has drawn criticism, with one user remarking that Airbnb has shifted from being consumer-friendly to imposing additional costs on its customers.

In other news, a federal judge in New York ruled against cell phone searches at the border. An Airbnb host faced backlash for not listing restrictions in their property description, which did not hold up under scrutiny. Another incident involved an Airbnb guest in Jacksonville, Florida, who could not adjust the thermostat as it was locked at 80 degrees Fahrenheit by the host.

Carlos Gonzalez commented on Twitter: "I think that’s a win for the Airbnb host/owner. Guest and tenants alike will set the thermostats to 67 degrees F." His tweet highlighted ongoing debates over temperature control in rental properties.
