Lufthansa has introduced its fifth aircraft equipped with the Allegris generation of long-haul products. The airline, which launched Allegris on an Airbus A350 from Munich in May, is now incorporating one aircraft per month with the new interiors, according to Victoria Schuster, Lufthansa's Vice President of Product & Customer Experience.

“As of next year, we’re going to introduce two aircraft every month with the new Allegris concept and design,” Schuster said during Lufthansa’s unveiling of its new lounge at Newark Liberty Terminal B. The lounge features various seating options and elements from the Allegris design. Similar renovations are planned for lounges at New York JFK and Washington Dulles.

Lufthansa Group is adopting what Schuster describes as a “holistic” approach to enhancing every aspect of the passenger experience — both on the ground and in-flight — through a EUR 2.5 billion investment in product enhancement.

The business class cabins on Allegris-fitted aircraft include seven different seat types, such as private front-row Business Suites.

“Product enhancements are not only lounges,” Schuster stated in Newark. “Lounges are super important, but of course it’s more than that. It’s also cabin. It’s catering onboard. It’s airport experience; it’s additional services. And we try to do this at the same time right now."

Schuster acknowledged that it will take time for these enhancements to be visible across all classes and touchpoints but emphasized Lufthansa's commitment to a comprehensive upgrade both onboard and on the ground.

She highlighted that the Allegris cabins form a crucial part of Lufthansa Group's broader investment in both hard and soft products, mentioning future SWISS Senses cabins as well.

“We invested heavily in the past months also in business class catering on long-haul flights, also in economy class catering. And I’m going to tell you right now, we are also working on new concepts for the future as well,” said Schuster.

“So there’s more to come…”
