The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced that its 2024 NBAA Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) will feature three leading contenders in the advanced air mobility (AAM) sector. The event, set to take place at the Las Vegas Convention Center from October 22-24, will showcase Electra.aero, Joby Aviation, and Lilium within the Emerging Tech Pavilion on the convention display floor. Additional representatives from the AAM industry are also expected to participate.

Electra.aero, based in Virginia, is noted for developing "hybrid-electric Ultra Short airplanes that take off and land in under 100 feet," capable of transporting up to nine passengers or 2,500 pounds of cargo over routes up to 500 nautical miles. California-based Joby Aviation is building an all-electric aircraft with vertical takeoff and landing capabilities "intended for fast, quiet and convenient passenger service." Germany's Lilium is working on a fully electric jet designed for vertical takeoff and landing that "can carry six passengers and is designed for regional and intercity distances."

"Advanced air mobility is quickly moving from concept to reality," said NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen. "NBAA-BACE will be the preeminent event to see how this game-changing, on-demand form of transportation will have implications for business aviation and beyond."
