Last fall, Hyatt launched a short-term rental booking platform called Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, similar to Marriott Homes & Villas. Unlike Airbnb, Hyatt sources short-term rentals and markets them for a commission, rebating some of that revenue to customers in the form of points and stay credit. Points can also be redeemed at modest-low value against these stays.

To date, the coverage of this platform has not been particularly impressive. Some users have even forgotten to check their offerings when interested in a short-term rental rather than a hotel.

Hyatt aims to change this perception by offering triple points on stays completed between August 21, 2024, and November 3, 2024. No registration is required for this promotion.

Customers will receive ten Bonus Points per eligible dollar spent on an Eligible Stay, in addition to the five Base Points typically earned. An "Eligible Stay" is defined as any stay where a member pays an Eligible Rate. To benefit from this offer, customers must be World of Hyatt members at the time of booking and during their stay, providing their membership number prior to check-in. Bonus Points will be posted to accounts within two to four weeks after checkout. This promotion cannot be combined with other offers or discounts unless expressly stated.

For the limited destinations available through the platform, it may be worthwhile to check whether booking through Hyatt makes sense. However, customers are advised to compare prices and rewards across various platforms, including direct bookings through property managers who might offer discounts due to savings on commissions.
