News and notes from around the internet have highlighted several issues in the airline industry, ranging from hygiene concerns to political influences on flight delays.

One Reddit user, identified as Disastrous-Use-4955, posted about the cleanliness of airplane seat back pockets. The post was bluntly titled: "Seat back pockets are actually disgusting. No shoes GTFO the plane!"

In another social media post, Nicole Adams, an Ohio realtor, shared a humorous take on food waste aboard flights. A Twitter user named The Todd commented on United Airlines' in-flight service with a sarcastic remark: "If the starving children in Africa place an UberEats order, @united can deliver with one of their planes as there is enough food at my feet on this plane to feed the continent."

Political interference in New York and New Jersey has also been blamed for causing airline delays across the United States. This issue was noted without further elaboration.

Additionally, GHA Discovery announced it would be adding elite breakfast options at three more brands. Meanwhile, American Airlines is set to discontinue its Austin-New Orleans route this fall, which Delta Airlines will resume in February.

Adrian Waltz provided updates on domestic routes via Twitter: "The latest Diio update had the following adds (Green), and removals (Red) of domestic routes by major carriers this week."

Lastly, a tweet by Washingtons ghost humorously suggested consequences for stealing rental cars: "Bet he won’t steal a rental again."
