John Ackerman Chief Executive Officer | Los Angeles World Airports

The LAX Presents performance series has announced its artist lineup for the summer and fall 2024 season. The series, now in its ninth year, will feature 18 artists from various genres.

"The performing arts have always been a seminal pillar in the culture of Los Angeles," said John Ackerman, Chief Executive Officer of LAWA. "To represent the vibrant communities that make up our city, LAX is excited to serve as a stage to showcase outstanding artists right here to the rest of the world."

The lineup includes artists such as Raga-Jazz fusion artist Sameer Gupta, Japanese Koto ensemble TEN led by Yuki Yasuda, and an all-star cast of DUBLAB’s resident DJs. The series will conclude with performances by Bob Baker Marionette Theatre.

“LAX is proud to provide a platform for local artists to share their work with an international audience. And conversely, LAX is thrilled we can occasionally feature renowned international artists who are touring through Los Angeles, such as South African jazz artist Nduduzo Makhathini. This season will enrich the travel experience for all who pass through the airport and give a voice to the creative spirit of the region,” said Sarah Cifarelli, LAX Art Program Director.

Martin Fleishman, Director of Rum & Humble, expressed his enthusiasm: “We are, once again, thrilled to provide the traveling public at LAX with these performances of musicians from a wide sampling of the cultures Los Angeles is home to. It’s always a pleasure to see smiles on people’s faces as they encounter live music as an unexpected part of their journey.”

Alejandro Cohen, Executive Director of DUBLAB, added: "These live performances at LAX will bring the sounds of our homegrown talent to the ears of people from around the world. We hope to not only make the airport a pleasant experience for travelers but also inspire and welcome them to Los Angeles or say farewell as they catch a flight to another city."

The performance schedule for August through December includes diverse acts such as Soundproof with Xica Soul on August 29-30 and Mariachi Divas on December 18-19. Each event will be held at different terminals within LAX.

Media advisories will be sent in advance for those interested in attending specific performances. All attending media must RSVP via email and bring government-issued ID for TSA screening.
