Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has expanded its "Pre-Select" meal option to Business Class passengers on short-haul flights. This service, which was initially introduced for long-haul flights over two years ago, allows passengers to choose from a variety of meals before their flight at no additional cost.

The new offering includes both hot and cold dishes that vary based on the destination and are updated every three months. Passengers traveling on short-haul flights longer than one hour from and to Zurich can select from six cold dishes accompanied by cheese and dessert. For longer flights, there are seven hot main courses available, including a dish from the "SWISS Taste of Switzerland" menu typically reserved for long-haul services. These meals also come with cheese, dessert, and salad.

This initiative aims to provide greater meal variety while enhancing sustainability efforts through optimized food planning. By allowing passengers to pre-select their meals online up to 24 hours before departure, SWISS seeks to reduce food waste through more precise loading processes.
