Federal Express Corporation, conocida como FedEx, ha anunciado el inicio de un nuevo vuelo que conectará Miami con Guatemala y Honduras. Este servicio proporcionará una capacidad de carga adicional diaria de hasta 52,000 libras, mejorando la conectividad para las empresas centroamericanas en sus operaciones de importación y exportación hacia Estados Unidos y otros destinos globales.

El vuelo será operado por un Boeing 757 propiedad de FedEx y tendrá una frecuencia de cinco días a la semana. La ruta comenzará en el Aeropuerto Internacional de Miami, hará escala en el Aeropuerto Internacional La Aurora en Ciudad de Guatemala, y finalizará su itinerario en el Aeropuerto Internacional Ramón Villeda Morales en San Pedro Sula, Honduras, antes de regresar a Miami.

Basil Khalil, vicepresidente de operaciones de FedEx para el Caribe y América Central, comentó: “La incorporación de este nuevo vuelo de FedEx es una decisión proactiva para atender la demanda en la región y profundizar la cooperación con el mercado local”. Khalil destacó que durante los últimos 24 años FedEx se ha comprometido a crecer junto al mercado guatemalteco mediante una operación flexible y eficiente que permita a sus clientes expandir sus necesidades comerciales.

Según AGEXPORT, este sector cerró 2023 con exportaciones valoradas en más de 116 millones de dólares y tiene perspectivas positivas para 2024.
