Delta Air Lines has announced a new nonstop service from Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) to Copenhagen (CPH), set to begin in May 2025. The route will operate three times weekly, enhancing Delta's connectivity to Europe and expanding its offerings from MSP to seven European destinations.

Joe Esposito, Delta’s Senior Vice President – Network Planning, stated, “Delta continues to strengthen its global network and offers unparalleled access to Europe from Minneapolis-St. Paul with this new direct service to Copenhagen, one of Europe’s most vibrant and culturally rich cities.” He emphasized the importance of the connection between two major SkyTeam partner hubs for customers traveling between Scandinavia and North America.

Brian Ryks, CEO and executive director of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, commented on the significance of this expansion for Minnesotans with Scandinavian heritage. “We are excited that Delta is expanding direct service to Europe from MSP next year," he said. "This new route offers great access to support deeper cultural ties and the continuation of cross-Atlantic business connections between our regions.”

Peter Krogsgaard, CCO at Copenhagen Airport, also expressed enthusiasm about the new route: "This is really great news, and we look forward to welcoming another route with Delta Air Lines at Copenhagen Airport." He noted that it would provide American travelers with direct access not only to Copenhagen but also numerous destinations across Europe.

The introduction of this route follows a codeshare agreement between Delta and Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS), allowing passengers traveling from Minneapolis-St. Paul to connect through Copenhagen to over 80 additional destinations. Conversely, travelers flying into MSP from CPH will have access to more than 110 cities across the U.S. and Canada.

Rick King, MAC Chair, highlighted the benefits for Minnesota's business community: “This addition to Delta’s service is an exciting new global connection for our region."

The flights will be operated using Delta’s A330-300 aircraft featuring various cabin classes including Delta One and Delta Premium Select. Passengers can expect enhanced amenities such as lie-flat seating in Delta One cabins along with a curated dining experience.

For those interested in booking travel plans including accommodations or activities in Copenhagen through Delta Vacations, there are opportunities for earning exclusive benefits like Medallion Qualification Dollars toward Medallion Status.

Further details on this new service can be found on Delta's official website.
