Delta Air Lines is marking two decades of operations in Santo Domingo, celebrating a long-standing connection between the United States and the Dominican Republic. Since launching its services in 2004, Delta has facilitated travel for over 16 million passengers to and from the Dominican Republic, with more than 6 million originating from Santo Domingo. The airline currently operates daily flights from Atlanta and three daily flights from New York's JFK Airport. Plans are underway to increase this to four daily flights by December 2024. Furthermore, in early 2025, Delta aims to expand its capacity in Santo Domingo by about 10% compared to the previous year.

The airline's overall expansion strategy includes a 17% increase in its operations across the Dominican Republic during the same period. Delta serves all four major destinations with mainline aircraft: Santo Domingo from Atlanta and JFK; Santiago Airport exclusively from JFK; Punta Cana with routes from Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, JFK, and Minneapolis-St. Paul; and Puerto Plata with new seasonal service starting November 23, 2024—marking Delta’s return since April 2011.

"Over the last two decades, Delta has proudly provided safe and reliable service to millions of customers traveling between the United States and Santo Domingo," said Agustin Durand, General Manager of Sales for Central America, Argentina, and the Caribbean. "We look forward to the next 20 years as we continue to grow and strengthen the connection between these two vibrant regions."
