Federal Express Corporation has taken a significant step towards its goal of zero-tailpipe emissions by introducing four new electric vehicles (EVs) to its fleet in Thailand. This initiative, part of FedEx's broader vehicle electrification strategy, aims for an all-electric parcel pickup and delivery fleet by 2040.

The newly added EVs will operate in high-traffic areas such as Chaeng Watthana, Tiwanon, Lat Phrao, Ram Inthra, Ngam Wong Wan, Prasert Manukit, Sukhonthasawat, Thammasart, and Chiengrak. These vehicles are designed for last-mile deliveries and have a range of up to 275 kilometers on a full charge.

Since their introduction in 2022, existing EVs have saved approximately 153.06 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The new additions are expected to avoid about 27.51 metric tons of tailpipe emissions annually.

Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director at FedEx Thailand stated: “At FedEx, we have set ambitious sustainability goals to help us achieve a goal of carbon neutral operations by 2040. This includes a phased approach to vehicle electrification.”

FedEx is also supporting Thailand's national carbon neutrality goals through other initiatives like adopting electric forklifts and energy-saving lighting systems. In collaboration with N15 Technology’s Orphan Waste program in 2023, FedEx recycled over 3,500 kilograms of waste into refuse-derived fuel for cement kilns.

Additionally, the company launched FedEx® Sustainability Insights—a tool providing customers with data on historical emissions from shipments within the FedEx network.
