Emirates is introducing a self-guided virtual training platform for its cabin crew, designed to align with the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and other regulatory requirements. The platform offers photorealistic models of Airbus A380, Boeing 777, and Airbus A350 interiors, along with emergency slides and various scenarios supported by realistic audio-visual effects. This new method aims to complement existing training practices.
The training focuses on two key safety aspects: aircraft door operations and firefighting. These modules are critical as improper handling of heavy aircraft doors can lead to serious consequences. The virtual training will allow crew members to practice door drills and demonstrate their competency in both normal and emergency procedures.
Firefighting skills are also emphasized, with scenarios including fires in ovens and overhead lockers. Cabin crew will use modeled fire extinguishers with realistic effects to enhance their skills.
