Leanne Geraghty Chief Customer and Sales Officer | Air New Zealand

Air New Zealand has introduced enhancements to its Airpoints program, marking the first of several planned improvements. The announcement was made by Nikhil Ravishankar, the airline's Chief Digital Officer.

"What does not change is that our Airpoints programme will remain transparent and member-centric, with our members being able to redeem their Airpoints Dollars™ across all Air New Zealand flights and our Airpoints Store," said Ravishankar.

In the coming year, Airpoints members can expect more opportunities to earn rewards with additional partners and a new tier. "The refreshed benefits and the new tier will be announced next year – introducing new benefits for Air New Zealand's most loyal customers," he added.

To facilitate these upgrades, investments were made in technology during a scheduled maintenance period. Ravishankar explained, "Our customers have told us what they love about the Airpoints programme, but we've also heard that we need to make some changes."

Immediate changes include an updated interface for easier access to benefits and activity after login. Members can now share their Airpoints Dollars with up to ten people within New Zealand. Additionally, tier review dates have been simplified to allow immediate benefit access upon retention of membership status.

"We're not slowing down; we're committed to creating an even more rewarding travel experience for our members, so watch this space," concluded Ravishankar.
