Icelandair and TAP Air Portugal have announced a new codeshare agreement, expanding their existing partnership. The agreement was signed on October 14 at TAP's offices located at Lisbon Airport.

TAP operates an extensive network with 90 destinations across Europe, Africa, and South America, including cities like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Porto, and Cape Verde. Icelandair offers routes to approximately 60 destinations in Europe and North America. Both airlines provide Stopover programs that allow passengers to explore the airlines' home countries without additional airfare.

The new codeshare agreement will be implemented in the coming weeks. It will enable customers from both airlines to travel seamlessly between networks using a single ticket, with baggage checked through to their final destination.

Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: “We are excited to add TAP to our impressive list of codeshare partners. We recently started services to Lisbon and by sharing a code with TAP, we will be able to greatly increase connectivity for both airlines’ customers. Customers traveling from Iceland can stop over in Lisbon on their way onwards to TAP’s impressive list of destinations. TAP’s customers can fly via Lisbon to Iceland and even onwards to Icelandair’s extensive network.”

Luís Rodrigues, CEO of TAP Air Portugal, also commented on the collaboration: “We believe that this partnership with Icelandair will enrich the portfolio of travel choices and destinations we offer to customers throughout our network. As we partner with Icelandair, we will be able to offer seamless flight journeys to Iceland, one of the most exciting travel destinations, and open our comprehensive network of destinations available from our Lisbon hub to all Icelandair customers. We look forward to working together with Icelandair for the benefits of all travel lovers.”

This partnership aims to extend market reach and strengthen both airlines' route networks through increased cooperation.
