Federal Express Corporation (FedEx) has introduced a new solution, the FedEx Import Tool (FiT), aimed at streamlining the import process for businesses in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This initiative comes as the UAE's merchandise imports increased by 7 percent, reaching $449 billion in 2023. As a result, the country is now ranked as the 16th largest importer globally.

The FiT tool incorporates advanced technology and user-focused design to enhance efficiency, compliance, and overall shipment processes. Originally developed in India, FiT is being rolled out across key markets in the Middle East, Indian Sub-continent, and Africa, including the UAE.

The platform offers several features designed to simplify import operations. These include a unified self-service interface for document management and shipment tracking, a dashboard providing visibility into every stage of shipments, proactive notifications to expedite clearance processes, an online payment option for customs duties and taxes, and round-the-clock monitoring that allows tracking up to 90 days post-pickup.

Nitin Navneet Tatiwala, Vice President of FedEx Marketing for the Middle East, Indian Sub-continent, and Africa (MEISA), stated: "Innovation that surpasses customer expectations is at the heart of everything we do. Understanding customer pain points has guided the development of FiT... providing businesses with enhanced efficiency, transparency, and reliability."

FedEx emphasizes its commitment to meeting customer needs through innovation. The introduction of FiT aligns with this goal while supporting government initiatives aimed at improving national import capabilities.

Further information about FiT can be found on the FedEx Import Tool page.
