Hyatt Hotels is set to lose one of its notable properties, Tommie Hollywood, to Marriott Bonvoy. The 212-room hotel, part of the JdV by Hyatt collection and a sister brand to Thompson Hotels, will rebrand as Hollywood Volume, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel later this month.

Beth Outlaw, general manager of Tommie Hollywood, stated that "Effective October 28, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. local time, Tommie Hollywood will no longer be operated as a Hyatt-branded hotel or affiliated with Hyatt." She added that efforts are being made to ensure a smooth transition for guests and staff.

Speculation is rife regarding the potential departure of another property from Hyatt's portfolio. Reports suggest that the neighboring Thompson Hollywood may also join Marriott's Autograph Collection. However, a spokesperson from Hyatt declined to comment on these rumors and mentioned that "We do not have news to share at this time regarding Thompson Hollywood, and it remains business as usual at the hotel."

Guests with upcoming reservations at Tommie Hollywood after October 28 are advised to contact Hyatt's Global Property & Guest Services for assistance. Outlaw assured that all paid reservations would be honored and encouraged guests booking through third parties to reach out for further guidance.

Despite the changes, World of Hyatt members still have options in the area with Dream Hollywood located nearby. Meanwhile, Marriott Bonvoy members will gain access to new choices in the vicinity including the rebranded Tommie-turned-Hollywood Volume and W Hollywood.

The departure of Tommie Hollywood leaves Austin as the sole location for the Tommie sub-brand within JdV by Hyatt.
