Daher has equipped and is now operating a new logistics hub for Airbus Helicopters in Albacete, Spain. The facility was inaugurated this week with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez in attendance.

Located next to Airbus Helicopters' production facility, the 50,000-square-foot warehouse features an automated and robotized storage system. Daher described it as the first of its kind in the aeronautics industry. The technology, provided by French warehouse automation specialist Exotec, aims to reduce total storage space requirements and minimize operator movement on site while enhancing efficiency and responsiveness.

The design of the warehouse prioritizes quality control optimization, reduction of human error, safety maximization, and improved working conditions for operators. Additionally, biofuel-powered trucks will be used for inter-site transportation to lower CO2 emissions.

In collaboration with the Confederation of Employers of Albacete, Daher is recruiting and training most of the workforce for the warehouse. The facility is expected to employ over 300 people eventually.

“We’re proud to be putting our expertise and innovative capabilities to work for Airbus Helicopters, using technology that positions Daher firmly on the pathway toward Industry 4.0, and fully delivering on the goals of this project,” said Aymeric Daher, CEO of Daher’s logistics division.
