Bas Gouverneur is set to become the new CEO of Daedalean, succeeding Luuk van Dijk, who will continue as executive chairman. Gouverneur previously served as chief technology officer at Ruag.

The U.S. Senate has confirmed a three-year extension for Jennifer Homendy as chair of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Homendy joined the NTSB in 2018 and became chair in 2021 after Robert Sumwalt stepped down.

Wheels Up announced Dave Harvey as its new chief commercial officer. Harvey brings 25 years of experience and was formerly chief sales officer at Southwest Airlines' B2B segment.

West Star Aviation named Josh Perkins director of quality control for its enterprise segment; he previously worked at PHI Aviation's MRO business.

Bismarck Aero Center appointed Benjamin Weldon as a certified flight instructor and commercial pilot while Donnie Goven received his FAA inspection authorization endorsement.

Dick Rutan passed away on May 3 at age 85; known for his nonstop global flight on Voyager aircraft designed by Burt Rutan which earned him recognition including a Presidential Citizens Medal from Ronald Reagan.

Paul Smith also passed away on May 10; recognized Vietnam veteran who contributed significantly to business aviation advocacy efforts through NBAA before retiring after receiving numerous military honors throughout his service career.
