FedEx Corporation has released its annual economic impact report, highlighting the company's global network and role in enhancing prosperity in local communities during fiscal year 2024. The report, created in collaboration with Dun & Bradstreet, outlines what is termed as the 'FedEx Effect'—the company's influence on accelerating the flow of goods and ideas that drive economic growth worldwide.

In Mexico, FedEx plays a crucial role in the national economy through its extensive delivery network. This includes over 8,000 employees across all 32 states, supported by numerous facilities and a fleet of more than 2,000 vehicles and aircrafts. Notably, FedEx Mexico facilitated relief efforts following Hurricane Otis in October 2023 by transporting over 120 tons of essential supplies to affected areas.

Jorge L. Torres, Vice President of Operations for FedEx Mexico stated: “In FedEx México, nuestro enfoque está en la sustentabilidad y la electrificación de la flota para reducir las emisiones y mejorar la calidad del aire.”

The report indicates that FedEx's operations in Latin America and the Caribbean contributed 0.8% to the net economic output in transportation-related sectors for FY 2024. Investments include expanding an electric vehicle fleet aimed at reducing emissions.

Globally, FedEx reported a direct contribution of over $85 billion to the world economy during FY 2024.

FedEx's initiatives also support small businesses through solutions like 'SME Connect', which promotes job creation locally. In calendar year 2023, about 90% of suppliers contracted by FedEx were small businesses.

Charitable contributions from FedEx totaled more than $55 million through its initiative called FedEx Cares.
