Emirates has resumed its daily service to Edinburgh, marking the airline's eighth destination in the United Kingdom. This new route will complement Emirates' existing A380 daily flight to Glasgow, providing customers with 14 weekly flights to and from Scotland.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized the importance of the UK market for the airline. "The UK is one of our most important markets, and we’re proud to reinstate our footprint in Scotland – a country that’s loved by visitors from around the world," he stated. He also highlighted that Scottish customers can expect an enhanced travel experience initially on their Boeing 777 aircraft before transitioning to the anticipated A350.

Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport, expressed enthusiasm about Emirates' return. “We are thrilled to be welcoming Emirates back to Edinburgh to resume that direct connection between Scotland's capital and one of the world's most sought out destinations in Dubai,” Dewar said. He noted that this connectivity would benefit both business and leisure travelers while offering numerous onward connections through Emirates' extensive network.

The resumption of this service is expected to significantly boost tourism in Scotland. Visit Scotland reported 4 million international visitors in 2023, contributing £3.59 billion to the economy. The increased visibility from Emirates’ operations could attract more tourists from key markets like Australia and India.

Additionally, Emirates’ daily flight will enhance cargo capacity through its SkyCargo division, supporting local businesses by facilitating trade links with global markets. Each flight can carry up to 16 tonnes of cargo, including high-value goods such as salmon and whisky.

Emirates currently operates 133 weekly flights across eight UK gateways using a mix of A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft. Passengers can enjoy gourmet meals, premium beverages, and inflight entertainment options onboard.

The flight schedule sees departures from Dubai at 14:50 local time with arrivals in Edinburgh at 19:05 local time. Return flights leave Edinburgh at 20:40 local time, arriving in Dubai at 08:05 the following day.

Emirates continues its award-winning streak this year with over 20 accolades globally. Notably, it was named ‘World’s Best Airline’ by Telegraph Travel among other recognitions for its services.
