Finnair Plus is currently offering a significant discount on the purchase of Avios, the shared loyalty currency among several frequent flyer programs. This promotion, which runs until November 20, 2024, allows customers to buy Avios with discounts ranging from 35% to 50%, depending on the quantity purchased.

According to Finnair Plus, "You must buy at least 5,000 Avios to get 35% off," with higher discounts available for larger purchases. The cost per Avios can range between 1.12 and 1.87 cents during this promotional period.

Avios can be used across various programs including Aer Lingus AerClub, British Airways Executive Club, Iberia Plus, and Qatar Airways Privilege Club. They can also be transferred between these programs at a 1:1 ratio.

This offer also extends domestically within the United States through American Airlines and Alaska Airlines bookings via Finnair Plus. A flight from the continental U.S. to Hawaii could cost as little as 13,500 Avios in economy class.

For those interested in utilizing this opportunity for partner award flights with airlines like Alaska and American Airlines through Finnair Plus's program requires contacting their customer service or using their chat service.

In summary, purchasing points or miles during such promotions can be beneficial if there is a specific redemption plan in mind or if topping off an account is necessary for future travel plans.
