Marriott has opened a new hotel in Salt Lake City, transforming the historic Union Pacific Depot into the Asher Adams, an Autograph Collection hotel. The depot, built between 1908 and 1909, now houses 225 rooms while preserving its historical elements such as stained-glass windows and terrazzo floors. The hotel's name honors John R. Asher and George H. Adams, American railroad cartographers.

The building features 13 suites with exposed brick and bathrooms with soaking tubs. Additional modern rooms are located in a new eight-story tower, reflecting the station's history and Salt Lake City's heritage.

"The original building has a spot on the National Register of Historic Places," Marriott states. Guests can experience its history through public areas like the Grand Hall and four bars and restaurants inspired by railway dining cars.
