As Chicago's planned expansion of O'Hare International Airport progresses, airline catering service Flying Food Group states that its workforce is prepared to support the increased international airline traffic.

"FFG's talented workforce in the Chicago region is the cornerstone of our ability to fully support ORD's transformation," said Nicolas Rondeau, FFG Executive VP Sales and Service. "Their expertise and dedication not only reflect the diverse fabric of the city but also empower us to provide exceptional, globally-inspired meals to meet the needs of a growing list of international carriers."

O'Hare International Airport is undergoing an $8.5 billion expansion under its O'Hare 21 Terminal Area Plan. According to the plan, this redevelopment will increase gate capacity by 25%, reinforcing Chicago's status as a gateway for international travelers alongside major airports like London's Heathrow and Dubai International. A key element of O'Hare's expansion, the new Global Terminal, aims to improve international and domestic flight connections when it opens in 2032. Designed by architect Jeanne Gang, the terminal will feature advanced baggage systems and a modern layout, positioning O'Hare to better compete with top-tier global airports and meet rising passenger demand.

The O'Hare 21 redevelopment is expected to create nearly 22,000 jobs across design, construction, and related industries, bolstering O'Hare's economic impact on Chicago. The Chicago Department of Aviation has issued $1 billion in bonds to fund the project, with costs covered through airline agreements and no taxpayer impact.

Chicago-based Flying Food Group (FFG) is positioned to play a key role in O'Hare's expanding international operations. Serving 54% of O'Hare's international carriers, FFG currently caters to 18 foreign airlines and has upgraded its facilities to support the airport's growth. The Chicago Department of Aviation has opened bids for 21 new concessions in O'Hare's Terminals 1 and 3 as part of the O'Hare 21 project. The expanded dining, shopping, and duty-free options aim to enhance the airport experience and reflect Chicago's diverse culture.

Founded by entrepreneur Sue Ling Gin in 1983, Flying Food Group is a leading in-flight catering company serving over 70 airlines across the U.S. and internationally. FFG is recognized for its commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and culturally diverse menus.
