Delta Air Lines and JetBlue have not secured additional slots at London Heathrow Airport for the upcoming summer season, according to the latest slot coordination report by Airport Coordination Limited (ACL). The report, published on November 13, highlights that while Delta Air Lines requested 960 extra slots and JetBlue asked for 840, their applications were unsuccessful. In contrast, American Airlines and United Airlines did not apply for more slots.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) summer season will span from March 30 to October 25, 2025. During this period, a slot conference will take place from November 19 to November 22, allowing airlines to acquire optimal schedules at coordinated airports.

Despite the inability of Delta and JetBlue to obtain additional slots, US-based carriers such as American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines are expected to increase seat capacity on flights to London-Heathrow. American Airlines plans to add up to 62,200 seats compared to last year. Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines aims for an increase of 103,830 seats and United Airlines plans for an additional 83,580 seats. Conversely, JetBlue is projected to decrease its seat capacity by approximately 7,560 seats.

British Airways is also reducing its seat offerings by about 27,930 due in part to Trent 1000 engine supply issues from Rolls-Royce affecting their Boeing 787 operations.

Overall aircraft movements at London Heathrow Airport are anticipated to remain stable year-on-year. However, there will be a modest increase of 1.3% in available seats during the summer season.

Data from aviation analytics firm Cirium indicates that six airlines will operate flights from Heathrow to the US in June 2025: Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, American Airlines, United Airlines along with British Airways and Virgin Atlantic. Collectively they will offer services to a total of 31 destinations across the US with New York JFK International Airport (JFK), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) being among the most frequented routes.
