Air Canada is set to reintroduce passenger Boeing 767s on select routes in 2025, marking the first time since 2020 that the airline will use its own passenger-configured aircraft of this type. The decision follows a previous lease of an Omni Air International passenger 767 during June and July 2024, continuing a pattern seen in recent years.

The two remaining passenger-configured Boeing 767-300ERs, C-FOCA and C-GLCA, which are over three decades old and previously operated by Canadian Airlines, will be deployed. These aircraft feature a seating configuration with 24 lie-flat business seats and 187 economy seats.

According to Air Canada's latest schedule submission to OAG, flights using these aircraft are expected to commence on February 1, 2025. The initial route will be a roundtrip service between Toronto and Las Vegas. Flights are scheduled until April 30 but may extend beyond this date.

The airline plans to operate these planes across five routes: Toronto-Calgary, Toronto-Edmonton, Toronto-Las Vegas, Toronto-Montego Bay, and limited services to Phoenix. "Two sectors are scheduled daily between February 1 and 14," with increased frequency from mid-February onwards.

In terms of equipment replacement, the Boeing 767s will substitute for various other models including the A321ceo, A330-300, 737 MAX 8, and larger capacity aircraft like the Triple Seven (777-300ER). For instance, Calgary's service initially planned with a Triple Seven will now utilize the smaller Boeing 767.

On March 29—a day before northern airlines transition to summer schedules—Air Canada plans seven flights utilizing the Boeing 767. This includes multiple legs between destinations such as Calgary-Toronto and Toronto-Las Vegas.

The reintroduction of these aircraft comes after they were last seen operating under Air Canada or Rouge in early 2020. Montego Bay has not had regular mainline Air Canada flights with this model since 2012.
