Delta Air Lines has announced a new partnership with Shake Shack to offer their burgers in first-class cabins on select flights starting December 1. This initiative will initially be available on flights departing from Boston that are longer than 900 miles. Passengers can enjoy a 100% Angus beef patty topped with cheese, served on a toasted potato bun.

Stephanie Laster, Managing Director of Delta’s Onboard Service, stated, “A delicious cheeseburger is an iconic comfort food – our customers know that which is why burgers are one of the top ordered menu items we offer, and we’re thrilled to elevate the offering with Shake Shack. However, our partnership with Shake Shack goes beyond the burger."

Michael Kark, President of Global Licensing at Shake Shack, added, “Taking our beloved cheeseburger to new heights, Shake Shack is proud to partner with Delta as we elevate the in-flight dining and hospitality experience for travelers across the country.”

Delta plans to expand this service to other cities throughout next year. However, this is not an on-demand service; passengers must pre-order through the Fly Delta app or via email up to seven days before departure.

The collaboration between airlines and food brands like Shake Shack reflects a trend where carriers seek unique onboard meal offerings. Other airlines have engaged in similar partnerships; for instance, Air France collaborated with Michelin-star chef Domonique Crenn for its premium cabin menus.
