Delta Air Lines has expanded its partnership with Saudia by introducing additional routes to their codeshare network. This week, Delta will codeshare on three specific routes operated by Saudia between the United States and Saudi Arabia. The services included in this agreement are flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Jeddah (JED), Washington Dulles (IAD) to Jeddah, and Washington Dulles to Riyadh (RUH).

The codeshare arrangement allows passengers to benefit from through-checked baggage and earn frequent flier points. These routes are operated by Saudia using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with varying frequencies: three times weekly for LAX-JED, four times weekly for IAD-JED, and three times weekly for IAD-RUH.

Delta's operations at Los Angeles International Airport provide numerous one-stop connections, especially along the West Coast and Hawaii. However, its presence at Washington Dulles International Airport is limited, offering connections only to a few destinations such as Atlanta (ATL), Salt Lake City (SLC), Seattle (SEA), and Detroit (DTW).

This announcement follows an earlier expansion of cooperation between Delta and Saudia. Recently, both airlines began codesharing on flights connecting Paris with Riyadh and Jeddah. As of November 13th, passengers can travel on nine Delta routes between the US and Paris before connecting onto a Saudia flight.

Additionally, there are speculations that Saudia might launch a route to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. This potential new route would align with the increased collaboration between the two airlines since Atlanta is Delta's largest hub.

Saudia has been recognized for its exceptional onboard service; it was awarded "best cabin crew" at the Business Traveller North America Awards.
