JetStar, Qantas, and Hawaiian Airlines are the three airlines operating non-stop flights between Hawaii and Australia this December. According to data from Cirium, JetStar leads in seat capacity with two routes from Honolulu to Sydney and Melbourne. The airline offers 16,080 seats in December 2024.

Qantas follows with 12,654 seats on its Honolulu to Sydney route. Hawaiian Airlines comes close behind with 11,954 seats also on the Honolulu-Sydney route.

The Hawaii-Australia route sees no operation by major US legacy carriers like American Airlines, United Airlines, or Delta Air Lines. Instead, JetStar provides low-cost options with its Boeing 787-8 aircraft for these routes. Its flight schedule includes three weekly flights from Honolulu to Sydney and two weekly flights to Melbourne.

Qantas operates using Airbus A330-300 and Boeing 787-9 aircraft for its round trips between Honolulu and Sydney. It offers five weekly departures each way.

Hawaiian Airlines uses Airbus A330-200 aircraft for its operations on the same route as Qantas but with fewer departures per week.

Both Qantas and Hawaiian offer higher fares compared to JetStar's lower prices on similar routes. Despite not serving Brisbane anymore post-pandemic, Hawaiian maintains a significant presence in Australian air travel markets.

The future could see changes due to Hawaiian's merger with Alaska Airlines and potential impacts from their membership in the oneworld alliance alongside Qantas.
