As of December 1, 2024, Singapore Airlines will become the sole airline to offer Cristal Champagne on its flights. Passengers flying in first class will have the opportunity to enjoy the 2015 vintage from Champagne house Louis Roederer on selected routes over a three-month period.

The special offering will be available on flights departing from Singapore Changi Airport to several destinations, including Delhi, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Paris, Shanghai, Sydney, and Tokyo.

According to a source at Singapore Airlines, the carrier serves over 400,000 bottles of Champagne annually. The introduction of Cristal is part of its ongoing collaboration with prestigious Champagne producers such as Krug and Taittinger.

Wine experts Jeannie Cho Lee and Oz Clarke guide Singapore Airlines' wine selection process. "When we choose wines," Clarke explained during a recent tasting tour in Champagne, "we try to make sure the core flavor and balance — the acidity and alcohol — tastes fresh and stands up to different cuisines and flavors on board." Lee added that they seek wines with enough expression so their character doesn't get lost in flight.

During their visit to Charles Heidsieck's cellars, Lee noted that "Charles Heidsieck is always a top selection," highlighting the depth and complexity of their cuvee. The 2007 Blanc des Millenaires will be available for first-class passengers aboard upcoming flights.

For business class travelers, Piper-Heidsieck's current release is being served across Singapore Airlines' network. Émilien Boutillat described it as having "a balance of power and expression with fruitiness, minerality and a freshness from citrus notes."

Krug Champagnes are also featured in first class due to a longstanding partnership with Singapore Airlines. Edition 171 is currently offered onboard. Clarke mentioned that Krug's wines possess "a consistency of vision and quality" which appeals to passengers.

Taittinger's Comtes de Champagne is another highlight for first-class flyers. Alexandre Ponnavoy led tastings showcasing various vintages during the visit by Lee and Clarke.

Singapore Airlines aims not only for brand recognition but also for wines that complement its diverse menu offerings. While premium cabins receive notable selections like Cristal or Krug Editions, other classes still enjoy quality options such as Piper-Heidsieck Brut Reserve.

Passengers interested in experiencing these offerings can book using KrisFlyer miles through transfer partners like American Express Membership Rewards or Chase Ultimate Rewards.
