Bombardier Global Express, a long-range twin-engine business jet, was designed and developed by Bombardier Aerospace of Canada. It was launched in October 1991, made its first flight in October 1996, and began commercial service in July 1999. The aircraft shares the fuselage cross-section with the Canadair Regional Jet (CRJ) and Challenger 600.

The Global Express is noted for its operational range. It can fly up to 6,390 nautical miles depending on payload and environmental conditions. This capability allows for intercontinental flights without refueling. Blade.com notes that “the Bombardier Global Express Jet is a popular choice for corporate and VIP travel. It has an impressive range, allowing passengers to travel from New York to Tokyo and London to Singapore non-stop.”

Turbulence attenuation is another feature of the Global Express. Its design includes an efficient wing and a new T-tail that helps reduce turbulence during flight. This design draws upon proven designs from Canadair and Bombardier CRJ models.

The spacious cabin of the Global Express can seat up to 14 passengers in a luxurious configuration with three distinct cabin zones. According to GlobalJet, “the Bombardier Global Express offers its passengers a very comfortable cabin, specifically designed to combine relaxation and productivity.”

In terms of maintenance costs, the jet benefits from longer maintenance intervals due to its Rolls-Royce BR710 engines. These engines are known for their fuel efficiency and reliability.

Finally, the advanced avionics suite includes Honeywell Primus 2000 systems that enhance flight efficiency and pilot situational awareness. Honeywell Aerospace explains that “pilot's and copilot's flight instruments...are displayed on the primary flight display.”

The features mentioned have contributed significantly to the popularity of the Bombardier Global Express in private aviation markets.
