Welcome to the latest update on notable airline routes that have begun or resumed in the past week, covering services from November 26 to December 2.
Turkish Airlines has expanded its Australian destinations with a new route from Istanbul to Sydney via Kuala Lumpur. The inaugural flight departed on November 28, covering 8,082 nautical miles each way, making it the longest route for Turkish Airlines. The service operates four times weekly using the A350-900 aircraft after initially deploying the larger-capacity 777-300ER for press and dignitaries.
Air Greenland has launched its first-ever commercial flight between Nuuk and Copenhagen. This new nonstop service was made possible by extending Nuuk's runway to accommodate widebody aircraft like the A330-800. Flights typically operate three times a week in winter and increase during summer and Christmas.
