United Airlines is launching its "Fantasy Flights" to the North Pole, offering a unique experience for children and their families during the Christmas season. This initiative aims to spread holiday joy and create memorable experiences for children on Santa's nice list.
The airline will transform an airport gate or maintenance hangar into a winter wonderland, complete with twinkling lights, Christmas trees, Santa Claus, and his elves. The Fantasy Flights will operate from 13 cities in the UK, Japan, and US territories. These include Honolulu, Washington D.C., Houston, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, San Francisco, Tokyo, Cleveland, Fort Lauderdale, Guam, Denver, and Newark on various dates throughout December.
Each year United employees volunteer alongside local nonprofit organizations and hospitals to make these flights possible. Speaking about this seasonal hub at the North Pole, Kate Gebo, United’s Executive Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations stated: “The team made a list; I checked it twice and the answer was clear – with so many deserving children on the nice list this year; it only made sense to launch a seasonal hub in the North Pole."
