Delta Air Lines has opened a new pilot training facility in Salt Lake City, marking a significant investment outside its Atlanta headquarters. The facility, located near the Salt Lake City International Airport, was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Delta leaders and local officials.

John Laughter, Executive Vice President and Chief of Operations at Delta, stated, “This 50,000-square-foot training center is really about the future.” He emphasized the benefits of improved training quality and enhanced convenience for pilots in Delta's western hubs.

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall highlighted the importance of this development for both Delta and the city. “It's a major step forward for our partnership,” she said.

The new facility aims to increase pilot training capacity and will host over 1,000 training events monthly. It includes four high-ceiling bays for simulators, procedure trainers, briefing rooms, classrooms, and spaces for emergency equipment training.

Delta continues to be SLC’s largest global premium carrier with extensive flight operations. The airline's ongoing investments have reinforced its position as a key gateway domestically and internationally. In 2020, Delta opened Concourse A at SLC airport featuring multiple gates and amenities.
