Lufthansa is set to operate six routes from Frankfurt Airport using Airbus A321 aircraft in December, all exceeding 1,400 miles. The destinations include Amman in Jordan, Cairo in Egypt, Larnaca in Cyprus, Reykjavík in Iceland, Ivalo in Finland, and Casablanca in Morocco.

The longest of these routes is to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman at 1,894 miles. This flight utilizes an Airbus A321neo with a scheduled duration of four hours and 15 minutes. Royal Jordanian also serves this route with an Airbus A320.

Cairo follows closely at 1,815 miles with Lufthansa's flight taking approximately four hours and 30 minutes on the same type of aircraft. Egyptair operates this route as well using a Boeing 737.

The route to Larnaca covers 1,640 miles with a flight time of three hours and 45 minutes. Reykjavík's Keflavík International Airport is next at 1,496 miles and takes about three hours and 40 minutes to reach from Frankfurt.

A unique destination is Ivalo Airport in Finland's Lapland region at a distance of 1,434 miles. This location offers attractions such as skiing and the Northern Lights without direct competition for Lufthansa.

Lastly, the route to Casablanca spans approximately 1,415 miles with a scheduled time of three hours and 45 minutes. Royal Air Maroc also flies this path using a Boeing 737.

Lufthansa currently operates three variants of the Airbus A321: -100s, -200s, and neos. The airline has retired some older models but continues to use others across its fleet which includes both parked and active aircraft.

"The A321neo is the longest-fuselage member of Airbus’ best-selling single-aisle A320 Family," according to Airbus. It seats between 180 to over 240 passengers depending on configuration.

Lufthansa remains one of the few operators still flying the aging A321-100 model while continuing its commitment as part of Star Alliance since its founding year in 1953.
