Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced plans to expand its fleet with five additional Airbus A350-900 aircraft, scheduled for delivery starting in 2027. This addition comes on top of the five A350s already ordered by the airline. The new aircraft will be introduced gradually from summer 2025 until the end of 2031 and will feature the 'SWISS Senses' cabin interior.

The acquisition is part of a broader investment strategy by the Lufthansa Group, which owns SWISS. Jens Fehlinger, CEO of SWISS, emphasized the importance of this investment: "Our new Airbus A350s will make our fleet even more modern," he said. "This is a major investment, and a vital one to ensure that we continue to meet our customers’ high expectations."

The Airbus A350-900 is known for its fuel efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. Its engines significantly lower noise emissions as well. The 'SWISS Senses' cabin interior aims to enhance passenger comfort across all travel classes with modern features.

Delivery of SWISS's first A350-900 is expected in summer 2025, with nine more following by the end of 2031. The airline plans to determine which routes these new aircraft will serve in the coming months.
