フェデラル エクスプレス コーポレーション（フェデックス）は、アジア太平洋地域とインド・欧州間の航空ネットワークを拡大し、新たなフライトを追加した。これにより、同地域の顧客は柔軟性と業務効率性が向上する。
新たなフライトは、中国の広州にあるフェデックス アジア太平洋地域ハブから、インドのバンガロール、アラブ首長国連邦、欧州のリエージュおよびパリまで週5便で運航される。この変更により南インドへの翌日配送が可能になり、高度技術産業や自動車産業に利益をもたらす。「配達所要時間が1日短縮することで、南インドへの翌日配送が可能になる」と説明されている。
フェデックスによる最近の調査では、アジア太平洋地域の企業は今年のホリデーシーズン中に売上増加を予測している。このことは新しいフライトの戦略的重要性を示唆している。また、「インドの現在の最大貿易相手国は中国であり」、両国間の貿易額は計1,184億ドルとなっている。さらに、「アジア・欧州間は世界で最も活発なルート」の一つとして知られている。
フェデックス アジア太平洋地域社長カワール・プリット氏は、「成長機会を生み出すには強靭なグローバルネットワークの構築が必要です」と述べており、この航空ネットワーク拡大が今後への期待を反映しているとした。「ホリデーシーズンの繁忙期や年間を通じて」企業成長支援を行う意向も表明された。
さらにフェデックスは、顧客活動支援としてFedExインポートツールやFedEx Ship Managerなど複数のデジタルソリューション開発にも取り組んでいる。特にモバイル端末用FedEx Ship Manager Liteでは簡便な配送手配が可能だ。機械学習技術も採用し、「荷物を4時間内にお届けできるよう」改善されているという。
