Cathay Pacific has announced plans to expand its European network with the introduction of direct flights to Munich and a return to Brussels in summer 2025. This expansion aims to provide travelers with non-stop connections between Hong Kong and these significant European cities.

The airline's first passenger service to Munich is scheduled for June 16, 2025, offering four return flights per week. This will be Cathay Pacific's second route to Germany, complementing its existing daily service to Frankfurt. Munich is recognized for its cultural heritage and as a key economic center in Europe.

In addition, Cathay Pacific will resume direct flights between Hong Kong and Brussels starting August 3, 2025. Brussels serves as an important political hub and transportation center within the region. The new service is expected to enhance connectivity between Asia and Europe through Hong Kong.

Both routes will utilize the Airbus A350-900 aircraft, featuring business class flat beds, premium economy spacious seats, and comfortable economy cabins.

Lavinia Lau, Cathay Chief Customer and Commercial Officer stated: “We are very excited to be adding Munich to our network for the very first time as well as returning to Brussels next year, making these our 10th and 11th destinations in Europe, respectively."

She added: "Cathay Pacific has been flying non-stop to Europe for over four decades and we remain very committed to this important market."

By summer 2025, Cathay Pacific plans up to 93 weekly return passenger flights from Europe, an increase from the current 78 weekly flights. The schedule includes five daily flights each to London along with daily services to other major European cities such as Amsterdam and Paris.

Additionally, passengers traveling from Europe can connect via Hong Kong’s hub across Asia-Pacific regions including destinations served by low-cost carrier HK Express. The airline projects that its extensive network will reach around 100 global destinations by the end of next year.

Flight schedules for these new routes have been released but remain subject to regulatory approval.

Alongside passenger services, Cathay Cargo intends seven freighter operations per week connecting Europe in summer 2025.
