Luxair, Luxembourg's national airline, has confirmed an order for two additional Embraer E195-E2 jets. This decision enhances its existing order of four E195-E2s placed in 2023, which included options for two more and purchase rights for three additional aircraft. The total number of E195-E2s on order now stands at six, with the first delivery expected in early 2026.

"The E195-E2 is a critical investment in Luxair's future," stated Luxair CEO Gilles Feith. He emphasized the aircraft's role in promoting quieter operations and superior fuel efficiency as part of Luxair's commitment to sustainability.

The new jets will feature a single-class configuration with 136 seats and Recaro seating, aligning with Luxair's goal to enhance passenger comfort. The Brazilian manufacturer highlights the E195-E2’s lower fuel consumption compared to previous models.

According to Reuters, this latest order has positively impacted Embraer's shares, contributing to a 2.5% rise during early trading in São Paulo. JPMorgan analysts estimate that the deal could add approximately $170 million to Embraer's backlog.

Marie-Louise Philippe from Embraer expressed gratitude towards Luxair for their continued trust, noting that the E2 is well-suited for Luxair’s operational needs and ambitions.

Embraer continues to secure orders globally for its E-Jet E2 family since launching the program in June 2013. Recent orders include Mexicana de Aviación’s purchase of 20 E2s and Virgin Australia's acquisition of eight E190-E2s as part of their fleet renewal strategy.
