Frontier Airlines has expanded its operations to Eagle County Regional Airport in Colorado, marking the airline's second location in the state. The inaugural flights arrived from Texas and Denver, with a new route to California set to begin soon.

The airline's presence at Eagle County was first announced in October. This week, Frontier launched thrice-weekly services from Denver and Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. A weekly service to San Francisco International Airport will start on December 21st.

Eagle County Regional Airport is located 150 miles west of Denver International Airport and serves areas including Vail, Beaver Creek, and Aspen. Josh Flyr, Vice President of Network and Operations Design at Frontier Airlines, commented on the expansion: "There is strong demand across the country for ultra-low fare travel to the Rockies, and we are thrilled to debut at EGE just in time for the peak ski and snowboard season."

Frontier will operate these routes using its Airbus A320neo aircraft. Flights to Denver will run three times a week on Monday, Friday, and Saturday mornings. The airline competes with United Airlines on this route.

For flights between Eagle County and Dallas/Fort Worth, Frontier goes head-to-head with American Airlines. Jennifer de la Cruz, Senior Director of Corporate Communications at Frontier Airlines stated: "Frontier is thrilled to connect consumers in Colorado, Texas, California, and beyond with the incredible beauty...this area of Colorado is famous for."

The final new route will be a weekly service to San Francisco starting this Saturday. Ivar C. Satero from San Francisco International Airport expressed enthusiasm about this connection: "We are thrilled to welcome Frontier Airlines’ new nonstop flights from SFO to Vail."

Frontier becomes the fourth scheduled airline at Eagle County Regional Airport alongside American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, as well as private operations. David Reid from EGE highlighted community excitement over this development: “The day we've all been waiting for has finally arrived- Frontier Airlines now calls EGE home.”

Alaska Airlines will also join later this month with routes to Seattle and San Diego.
