Finnair has taken delivery of its 18th Airbus A350 aircraft, part of a total order of 19. The new Airbus A350-900, registered as OH-LWT, arrived at Helsinki Vantaa International Airport on December 17, 2024. The Finnish airline financed this acquisition with export credit support over €100 million ($105 million) from the export credit agencies of Germany, France, and the United Kingdom. Citibank Europe arranged the financing.

Currently operating a fleet of 18 Airbus A350s, Finnair is awaiting the final delivery in this series. The carrier's A350-900 aircraft come in two configurations: one seats up to 321 passengers while the other accommodates 278 people. The larger configuration includes an economy-heavy three-class cabin layout with 265 seats in economy, 26 in premium economy, and 30 in business class. The smaller version has seating for 211 passengers in economy class, 24 in premium economy, and 43 in business class.

The arrival of this new aircraft coincides with Finnair completing upgrades to its long-haul cabins. This €200 million ($209 million) retrofit program began in 2020 and involved modifications to both Airbus A330 and A350 cabins. New features include 'AirLounge' seats by Collins Aerospace for business class and 'Vector Premium' seats by HAECO Cabin Solutions (now part of ZIM Aircraft Seating) for premium economy. Economy class received updated seat covers and enhanced in-flight entertainment systems.

Finnair's route network for its A350 fleet spans across North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East with significant service to East Asia destinations like Singapore Changi International Airport and Tokyo Narita among others. In addition to these routes, the airline connects Helsinki with major U.S. cities such as New York City and Los Angeles using its A350s.
