South Korean airline Air Premia is set to expand its operations in the United States with new routes to Honolulu International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport starting in 2025. The airline will utilize its fleet of Boeing 787-9 aircraft, which has grown to six as of December 2024, for these services. Currently, Air Premia operates flights from Seoul Incheon to destinations such as Tokyo Narita, Bangkok, and Los Angeles.

Air Premia plans to further expand its network next year by adding flights to Da Nang and Hong Kong early in 2025, followed by the new US routes. This expansion will be supported by the addition of three more Boeing 787s expected in 2025. Seung-shin Park, Head of Public Relations at Air Premia, emphasized the importance of fleet expansion: "Fleet expansion is crucial for growth in the aviation industry. We are developing a balanced route portfolio to enhance both customer convenience and profitability."

The airline had previously offered irregular flights to Honolulu but now aims for consistent operations on this route. An interline agreement with Alaska Airlines was announced in March, covering domestic routes within the US and extending into Central and South America. There is speculation that this codeshare agreement might also involve Hawaiian Airlines due to a recent merger between Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines.

Air Premia's latest announcement coincides with the arrival of its sixth Dreamliner aircraft, registered VP-CVD. Although not brand new—it was previously operated by Norwegian Air—the plane will undergo reconfiguration over winter before beginning operations primarily in the Americas in January 2025. The aircraft currently seats 344 passengers but will have economy class seats upgraded for increased comfort.

Presently, Air Premia serves three US destinations: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), and San Francisco International Airport (SFO). According to Cirium schedules data for December, Air Premia provides 74 flights each way between Korea and the US monthly. CEO Yoo Myung-sub stated: "The Americas are Air Premia's most important strategic route. We plan to offer more routes and flights, creating more diverse options for Korean immigrants and local travelers heading to Korea."
