Air Astana, Kazakhstan's national airline, has been operating since May 15, 2002. It is the largest airline group in Central Asia and the Caucasus, with a fleet of 50 aircraft serving 94 routes across 21 countries. The airline provides a range of services from scheduled flights to cargo transport, covering regions like Central Asia, the Caucasus, Europe, Turkey, the Middle East, and Asia.

The Air Astana Group operates under two brands: Air Astana and FlyArystan. Air Astana is known for its quality service as a full-service brand in Kazakhstan. FlyArystan offers budget-friendly travel options without compromising essential services. This dual-brand strategy allows the group to target various markets effectively.

Established in late 2001, Air Astana launched its first flight from Almaty to Astana on May 15, 2002. The same year saw its first international flight to Dubai. In December 2007, it introduced the Nomad Club frequent flier program. By 2013, Air Astana received SKYTRAX awards for Best Airline in Central Asia and India and Best Airline Service.

As of early 2024, Air Astana operates a fleet of 54 aircraft with an average age of 5.4 years. Its diverse fleet includes Boeing and Airbus models suitable for both short-haul and long-haul flights.

Air Astana connects passengers to over 30 destinations across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. It offers different classes including business class with premium amenities and economy sleeper class for added comfort.
